What a Summer!

September is here which means fall is right around the corner. Que the pumpkin everything, falling leaves and comfy sweaters! But before that, we have one more hurdle to face…Labor Day.

Compared to the past two years, we had an incredible summer. Thanks to all of you, our inventory remained stable and when it did drop and a shortage situation arose, you came to our rescue and quite literally saved that day. THANK YOU!

Unfortunately, we’re never truly out of the woods. In order to start the month off on the right foot, we need our collections over the next few days to be higher than average which means one thing for you: it’s time to donate! (keep in mind your eligibility date of now, before you come rushing in).

For those of you who are eligible, we’ve got a little something extra to help entice you. We started the summer off with a Kayak promotion, so we figured we’d end the summer with one too! You read that right, all donors September 1 through September 9 can enter to win a kayak package, complete with two (2) kayas, paddles and a $100 Field & Stream gift card! Spend the first warm parts of fall enjoying the falling leaves from the water, just be sure you send us pictures!

Not eligible yet? Don’t worry. You can redeem points for ONE (1) entry via the point store. Just like with Disney, only ONE (1) entry will be counted, and all points spent on additional entries will be forfeit.

Urgent needs, promotions, and special events are always popping up! Keep in touch with us by updating your preferences in the Communication tab of your donor portal. And if you haven’t already opted in to receive text messages from us, text BLOOD to 444-999 to do so. You’ll earn 50 points toward the CBB point store when you opt-in!

Well, a BIG BIG teaser for BIG BIG news. Keep an eye on your email in the coming weeks. You’ll be receiving a special invitation for an upcoming event and it’s one you won’t want to miss!

The Point Store

We’ve had some questions about the $100 gift card drawing recently so we wanted to take a minute to remind you of a few things. You can enter into the drawing as many times as you’d like each month. Once the month is over, we will run a list and randomly select a winner from everyone who entered. Our winners are given the option of having us announce their name, which is why the congratulations that you sometimes see here varies from month to month. You are not obligated to enter to the drawing. You can always redeem for your points for something tangible like a coffee mug, t-shirt, keychain or gift card. Your points are yours to use as you’d like!

If at any point in time you have questions about the point store or an order, need help ordering, or have an idea for a specific item or gift card you’d like to see, please email nicole.hornaman@fourhearts.org. While we won’t be able to fill every item request, we will do our best to fill most!

And don’t forget, even if you haven’t created your Donor Portal account you are still earning points! Community Blood Bank staff is happy to assist you in creating an account or redeeming your points.

As a reminder, points are added once data entry is completed, which may be done the following day. If you don’t see your points increase after a day or two (or by Tuesday if you donated the previous Saturday) please call the blood bank at 1-877-842-0631. Donors earn points even if they have not created an online account.
