"Thank you to everyone who has ever donated blood before, and thank you to the donor who saved my life." - Angela
Angela's Story
Angela Breter, a nursing student at Gannon University, discovered the importance of blood donations at 16 years old when she found herself in an emergency situation. As she started to experience pain, blurred vision, and started feeling light-headed she quickly realized something was wrong.
Upon arriving at the hospital Angela was diagnosed with appendicits and quickly prepared to head into an emergency appendectomy.
Although it is a common surgery, without treatment or surgery it can be life-threatening. During this surgery she required a blood transfusion to ensure her safety and recovery.
Thanks to generous blood donors, Angela is doing well and studying to be a labor and delivery nurse!
