ERIE, PA – Community Blood Bank, an independent, non-profit blood center, becomes the primary blood supplier to Butler Memorial Hospital and Clarion Hospital, a part of Independence Health System, as of November 1, 2023. Community Blood Bank currently supplies 15 hospitals across Northwestern Pennsylvania and Western New York, as well as 7 MedEvac bases.

"This partnership will allow current and future local blood donors to be engaged with the blood supply in their community. We are excited to kick off this partnership with two blood drives at the hospitals, open to the community:

Community Blood Bank partners with hospitals in Northwest Pennsylvania and Western New York to provide blood for patients in need. If you are at least 17 years of age, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and are in good general health, you may be eligible to donate blood. You must have a valid photo ID in order to donate. Prior to donating, those giving blood should eat a good, solid meal.
