At the Community Blood Bank, our donors are the heart of everything we do. Each donation helps save lives, support local hospitals, and strengthen our community. That’s why we are proud to celebrate our incredible donors during our annual Donor Appreciation Day.

This special day is dedicated to recognizing the generosity and commitment of those who roll up their sleeves to make a difference. Whether you’re a first-time donor or a longtime supporter, Donor Appreciation Day is our way of saying thank you.

Our 4th Annual Fore Hearts Open is scheduled for Monday, June 22nd, 2026 at Venango Valley Golf Course. There will be a shotgun start at 10:00 am, food and beverages being served on the course, as well as a meal at the conclusion of the day.

Players will have the chance win the $10,000 hole in one prize and can compete in a putting contest for various prizes.

We are excited to share that, together with iHeartMedia, Community Blood Bank will be hosting Bob-a-thon, a radiothon to encourage blood donation and raise funds in support of our blood collection efforts across the region. 

During Bob-a-thon, iHeartMedia will help amplify our mission by sharing stories, educating listeners about the ongoing need for blood, and encouraging community support through on-air fundraising and an on-site blood drive held at the Boston Store. This partnership allows us to reach thousands of people throughout the region and shine a spotlight on the lifesaving impact of blood donation.

Less than 2% of our local community donates blood each year, even though more than 60% of the population is eligible. Without intervention, the continued decline in blood donors could become a public safety issue. Summer months are historically challenging for blood collection which makes the success of this radiothon more critical than ever.
